Savoy Theatre in Asbury Park to Be Sold

The newly-established Arts Coalition of Asbury Park is under contract to purchase the landmark Kinmouth Building on Mattison Avenue in Asbury Park which includes the Savoy Theatre.
The coalition, a non-profit arts organization which hopes to implement an arts plan and district in the city, has signed an agreement with building owner, Michael Fornino of Neptune. Under terms of the agreement, the coalition will pay $250,000 to Fornino within 30 days and the remainder in a year.
The sale price was undisclosed.
Diane Raver, the new director of the Arts Coalition, said she is grateful for this opportunity to create a hub in Asbury Park for arts education.
Raver is the founder of the Garden State Film Festival.
