Neptune Woman Charged With Forging Insurance Cards

Ocean Township police have arrested a Neptune woman in connection with the possession and manufacture of fictitious motor vehicle insurance cards.

Police said following a monthlong investigation into the making and sale of fictitious cards Kathleen Banks, 45, of Neptune was arrested Sept. 16 on Allen Avenue.

The investigation began in August after police received information that a woman working at a local insurance agency was making fictitious insurance cards. Det. Greg Tongrings investigation revealed that Banks would allegedly make up cards for people who requested them. She then sold the cards for a small amount of cash.

The company she worked for was not involved in the making of the cards and the company itself was the victim of a theft when Banks allegedly stole blank insurance cards for her scheme.
