Senior running back Jaashawn Jones has helped take some of the pressure off of Johnson, as he poses a major threat to opposing defenses.

Keeping Jones healthy is a major priority for the team, as he suffered two sprained ankles in the teams second game of the season against Point Pleasant Beach.

The banged up running back sat out practice all of last week and was questionable for the game against Mater Dei.

Jones is dangerous when he has the ball, as he rushed for 198 yards on just 15 carries against Point Pleasant Beach; but he also helps keeps defenses honest when he doesnt possess the pigskin.

Stinson said the team has been able to get some big plays by simply play-faking to Jones. This strategy worked against Point Pleasant Beach, as a fake helped spring Johnson for a 78-yard run.

The teams next game is this Saturday at noon at Asbury Park Stadium against Rumson-Fair Haven.

Asbury Park Head Coach Joe Stinson (center, wearing number 81) instructs his team during a practice last week.
