Ocean Girls Advance to Semis in Shore Conference Tournament
The Ocean Township High School Girls Soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the Shore Conference Tournament with a 2-0 victory over Wall at home on a drizzly afternoon on Monday.
Kirsten Chen scored the first goal for Ocean, which proved to be the game winner, off of a throw in by Gina DAmbrisi.
Ocean has been led by senior goalie Sarah Fylak, who recorded another shutout in the win over Wall.
With the win, the Spartans improved to 15-1-1 on the season, as they play A-North rival Middletown South on Wednesday at Memorial Field in Neptune. The game ended too late for this edition.
Ocean played to a 1-1 tie in double overtime against Middletown North earlier in the season.
