Registered Sex Offender Indicted for Kidnapping
A Monmouth County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against a convicted sex offender for aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, terroristic threats and criminal restraints stemming from an incident May 20 in Asbury Park and Neptune.
In a press release from the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office it said Marty Ross allegedly abducted a 17-year-old girl who was walking to school and took her to a motel in Neptune where he threatened her with a razorblade and forced her to smoke crack cocaine and sexually assaulted her.
Ross eventually took the girl to Piscatway, the indictment said. Once there she was able to describe her ordeal to two individuals when Ross left the residence. The victim was later able to contact police from the residence.
Also charged was Ross girlfriend, Shannon Lott. First degree kidnapping carries a potential sentence of up to 30 years.
