Neptune residents can find out more information about the redevelopment efforts being undertaken on West Lake Avenue at a new information office on the street.
A ribbon cutting ceremony for the information center at 1716 West Lake Avenue was held Tuesday.
Gail Oliver, a lifelong West Lake Avenue resident and founder of the Midtown Urban Renaissance Corporation (MURC), said the temporary facility on the street is a way to give information about redevelopment to the public.
She said the information center will be manned by volunteers from MURC, and is a place where residents can ask questions and voice their concerns.
The information center was a collaborative effort between MURC and CitiWorks, the designated redeveloper for West Lake Avenue.
The office has pamphlets of information about the redevelopment project, as well as pictures of what West Lake Avenue looked like in the past and what it could look like in the future.
The idea of the center is to provide as much information as possible to the community, said Neptune Township Mayor Thomas Catley, which has always been our goal from the very beginning.
