Ocean Fire Election Results
The results of the fire district elections in Ocean Township are as follows:
Fire District Number 1 -James Hiers, 76 votes, Frederick Willms, 68 votes with a total of 86 people voting in the uncontested election. Both are current members of the board.
Budget results are; operating appropriations – 74 yes, 8 no, capital project: ambulance – 72, yes, 7 no and capital appropriations, reserve – 72 yes, 8 no.
The capital project question: station number 1 roof and gutters in 2007; 70 yes, 2 no.
Fire District Number 2 – Brian Conover was elected to a third term on the board of commissioners with 327 votes, while Kevin O’Connor was elected to his first term on the board with 275 votes.
The budget also passed by 22 votes with 260 voting yes and 238 voting no.
William MikeEvans received 235 votes and Jim Serano 155 votes.
