Unfinished High-Rise Ready to Become History

After two decades of being a symbol of failed redevelopment efforts in Asbury Park the unfinished high-rise on the citys oceanfront will become a permanent part of the city’s history in 12 seconds.
That’s how long the actual implosion, scheduled for 7 a.m. Sat., April 29 will take.

Neptune’s Redvelopments Could Increase Tax Revenues

Neptunes multiple redevelopment projects could give the township an additional $12.3 million in tax revenue, Stanley Slachetka, a consulting engineer for the township, said at the Township Committee meeting on Monday.
Currently, the township receives about $278,000 a year from the properties that could be developed, he said.

Avon Commissioners Hope To Raise Funds from Tower Lease

Avon commissioners fielded questions from residents regarding the 2006 municipal budget at Monday’s meeting.
Financial Chairman Robert Mahon reported that residents with a home assessed at the average $350,000 will pay an additional $171 this year with the 4.9 cent tax rate increase.
