2 Neptune Incumbents Lose, Budget Defeated in Election

Neptune residents this week voted out two incumbents and soundly defeated the $73 million school budget proposed by the Board of Education.

Ocean School Budget Passes

Ocean Township residents were among a select few in Monmouth County to approve their school board budget.
They passed the $47,642,573 tax levy by a 121 margin, with 1,449 votes for and 1,328 votes against.

Asbury Park seniors are again in need of a home of their own.
Father Gerard Lynch of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Asbury Park said this week that the senior citizens will have to vacate their temporary quarters at the convent in June.

Neptune City Municipal Budget Includes 4.6 Cents Tax Rate Hike

Neptune City residents will see a 4.6 cent increase in the tax rate for municipal purposes under the budget proposed by the Borough Council.
Mayor Tom Arnone said the council worked very hard on keeping costs down for the taxpayers.
