The employment status of Asbury Park Superintendent of Schools Dr. Antonio Lewis is scheduled to be discussed at tonight’s (August 31) Board of Education meeting, with the replacement of Lewis with an acting chief a distinct possibility.

A Long Branch man and six Ocean Township girls have been charged in connection with a drinking and driving incident where a 17-year-old township girl died after the vehicle she was driving crashed into a tree on Cold Indian Springs Road.

Tinton Falls Councilman Offers Services for Fort Committee Website

Tinton Falls Councilman Michael Skudera has received permission to create and maintain a website for the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA).
Skudera, whose parents both worked at the fort, has offered his services free of charge.
I offered to design the site, pay for the domain name, pay for the hosting, he said.

Deal Plans New Pool, Improvements to Casino Beach Club

Deal Mayor Harry Franco has named borough resident Norma Cohen as the chair of a committee of citizens who will gather suggestions about the future of the boroughs Casino Beach Club.
Franco said he appointed Cohen because she is an innovative, creative person who is a social coordinator and planner.
