Tinton Falls Councilman Offers Services for Fort Committee Website
By ANDREW CANGIANO
Tinton Falls Councilman Michael Skudera has received permission to create and maintain a website for the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA).
Skudera, whose parents both worked at the fort, has offered his services free of charge.
I offered to design the site, pay for the domain name, pay for the hosting, he said.
Skudera originally made the offer to do the website back in January, when the group was named the Fort Monmouth Re-Use Committee.
However, at the time he never received a response from the committee. This August, he again offered his services and this time new chairman Robert Lucky embraced the idea.
Skudera said that he would put information on the website dedicated to the fort authority, including: agenda and meeting minutes, proposed timeline and plans, news updates, a section of frequently asked questions, personal bios of authority members and professionals, requests for proposals, and links to other sites of interest.
The website could also be a forum for residents to e-mail members of the authority their questions and ideas.
Skudera has offered to continue to maintain the website for free until funds are made available.
Any information that the committee deems to be public information Ill put on there, he said.
Skudera has over a decade of work as a software design engineer and has done independent software design on internal websites for a number of companies.
He said he saw the need for a website as a way for the FMERA to keep the public informed about what is happening with the fort.
It would help out communication between the committee members and the public, he said.
Skudera said he is still looking for a domain name for the site.
Im bouncing ideas off the committee, he said.
He said he will run the website until funding becomes available to pay someone to do so.
Skuderas father was a physicicst at the fort for over 30 years and his mother worked at both the CECOM building and the Chaplain School.
