Neptune City Police Arrest Teens for Theft in Autos

Neptune City Police have arrested three Neptune residents for entering parked vehicles and stealing personal items.

Edward Barber, 20, and Christopher L. Harris, 19, both of Neptune were arrested along with a 14-year-old Neptune resident.


At about 4 p.m. Monday, a Fifth Avenue resident saw three males enter two vehicles parked on the 200 block.

Police Officer Pyzik found the subjects on Fifth Avenue a short distance away.

After an on-scene investigation, police discovered the teens stole loose change and personal items from the unlocked vehicles.

Owners whose cars were targeted were identified as Sandra McGovern and Jessica Matthews ,both of Fifth Avenue in Neptune City.

Police Officer Janell Pyzik charged the defendants with two counts of vehicle burglaries, two counts of theft from vehicles and conspiracy to commit burglary theft.

Neptune City Police Officer Brad Hindes assisted with help from the Avon and Neptune Police Departments.

Bail was set at $5,000 each for the adults. The juvenile was released to his mother and his charges were forwarded to the family court.

Neptune City police again remind residents to lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activities to the police.
