Sue Monroe of Bradley Beach is holding her son, Thomas, who recently celebrated his fourth birthday. She said she and her family and friends are all going down to the end of the street and watch the fireworks on the fourth of July. They do a great job in Bradley Beach, she said.
Travis Schembri, a student of Neptune Middle School, has been named a United States National Award Winner in mathematics and science. Travis was nominated by his guidance counselor Jennifer Maher and will appear in the United States Achievement Academys Official Yearbook, which is published nationally.
Chaise Crenshaw, 6, of Neptune, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss New Jersey Pageant to be held for girls ages 4 through 18. Chaise attends the Gables School and is in the 1st grade, where she has an A average in all her classes.
Yanni Gavakis was principal for a day at Wanamassa School in Ocean Township just before school let our for the summer. Here is pictured with real principal Marge Grilli as they prepared to greet the pre-school students.
