22 Arrested at Ocean Drinking Party
Twenty-two teens between the ages of 15 and 17 were arrested at an underage drinking party Saturday night in Ocean Township.
Police said it was one of the largest parties of underage drinking in the township.
The party was held at a North Woods Road residence at the home of a 16-year-old girl whose parents were out for the evening, police said.
After receiving an anonymous tip at approximately 9:56 p.m., police went to the residence. Sgt. Charles Weinkofsky and Officer Dimitrios Kelesidis arrived at the scene and found several juveniles outside the home, one of whom was drinking liquor from a cup.
Sgt. Brendan Bruther and Officer Jason Lester arrived at the scene to assist and discovered a large group of teens drinking beer and vodka in the basement.
Those arrested were charged with consuming and or possessing alcoholic beverages on private property while under the legal age. All those arrested live in Ocean Township.
Juveniles arrested were: two 15-year-old females; two 15-year-old males; 11 16-year-old females; three 16-year-old males; one 17-year-old female and one 17-year-old male.

People should not get so alarmed about this because parties do happen and kids drink. Fortunately everyone is alright and the police had their evening of excitement .
Why should anyone take the drinking law seriously when you have a police chief in wall driving drunk and could of killed someone , get a dismissal like nothing happened.

please be advised that the above article indicates that 22 teens were arrested . the truth is that most of the kids at the north woods residence were not drinking and were still packed into a van and taken to the police station . the majority of the teens were there for no more than 10 minutes and when they saw alcohol present were prepared to leave and made phone calls to be picked up . However they were still treated like delinquents . my wife who advertises with your paper is prepared to cancel her advertisement . it is a shame that your paper needed to put falsehoods into an article in order to sensationalize a rather serious issue . it is also a shame that the teens who were innocent were included with those that were clearly guilty and should be dealt with appropriately . you are a community paper and as such should have the interest of the community as your priority and not stoop so low as to print out and out falsehoods in order to fill space .
