City Police Inspector Retiring

Asbury Park Police Chief Mark Kinmon confirmed this week that Police Inspector Christopher Van Buren will retire from the department.
Van Burens retirement will take effect in November and Kinmon said he did not expect a replacement to be hired until then.
Kinmon also said Van Buren would begin using accumulated sick days most likely in the near future.
He decided it was time to move on to the next stage in his life, Kinmon said. He said he could not comment further.
Van Buren filled the position of police inspector when Kinmon was named deputy chief in late 2005. In March 2007 Kinmon was named chief.
Van Buren has been with the department since 1992.
