Fire Juggler, Banjo Player, Face Painting and Sidewalk Sales in City
Asbury Park downtown merchants are set for the un-official beginning of summer, said Mike Evans, owner of Mikes Beach House on Cookman Avenue.
And Aaron Coleman, special events manager at Mattison Park, said business owners are rolling out the red, white and blue for the holiday weekend.
We have 2,500 feet of red, white and blue fringe for the outside of the stores, he said.
In addition, red, white ad blue bunting will also add to the holiday spirit.
Many shops will be open late on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Sidewalks sales are scheduled throughout the weekend and on Sat., May 24 from 2 to 6 p.m. Mikes Beach House and Wish You Were Here will be sponsoring live entertainment by singer/song writer Kevin Quinn.
On Sunday, the streets will be alive with street performers from 4 to 8 p.m.
Performers will include The stilt walker Brenn, Eggroll the Clown, A Strolling Banjo Player, A Fire Juggler, Face Painter and Air Brush Tattoo Artist.
In addition, the downtown merchants have worked together to purchase and install decorations for the holiday weekend.
Downtown Asbury Park is going to be a festive and fun place to shop and dine this weekend said Aaron Coleman, chairman of the special events committee for the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce.
Its going to be a great summer he said.
