Exhibition Features Citys Historical Landmarks
An exhibit of historical landmarks of Asbury Park, which have been demolished, is on display at The Harrison restaurant and bar, 716 Cookman Ave., Asbury Park.
The exhibit is called “Beauty of The City in Ruins, Oil Paintings and Photography by Linda Vincelli. She was raised in Point Pleasant and spends much of her time exploring the beaches of New Jersey.
Also on display in the inception of a new series, The Green Tropics, which are oil paintings and photography of green bananas and coconuts. All art is for sale from $150.-$1600. Custom orders and sizeson request.
The photography may be ordered in color, black and white or sepia.The exhibit will be on display now through July 6. The exhibition is coordinated by Arts CAP.
Strawberry Fest in Ocean Grove
You can help yourself get those servings of fruits and vegetables by stopping by the 14th Annual Strawberry Festival scheduled for Sat., June 28 in Ocean Grove.
The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Auditorium Pavilion.
The festival features desserts made with – what else – strawberries. Some will also include ice cream and cake. The desserts are $5 each.
The event is sponsored by St. Pauls United Methodist Church HEART of UMW and the profits will benefit the local missions.

It later became Paul Samperi’s Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge. After years of sitting vacant, it was replaced by an office building around the late 1980s. |

The afternoon show of the Wave Gathering at the Stone Pony Sun., June 22 will feature April Smith and the Great Picture Show, the Matt ORee Band, Jersey Jung and the Christine Martucci Band. Doors are at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Near Records’s artist, Rhys, is having her debut performance at the 3rd annual Wave Gathering in Asbury Park this Friday, June 20th at 10pm. The location will be Mattison Park, 649 Mattison Ave. There is a $5 cover charge at the door. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at http://wavegathering.com/.

Do-wop returns to the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove Sat. June 21 with a concert by The Duprees, Fred Parris and the Five Satins, The Chantels and Cleveland Stills and The Dubs.
