What are your concerns about the economy?
Lauren Johnson & Jennifer Johnson, Pt. Pleasant

Jennifer: The economy being so bad, I dont think people are going to be able to live the way they need to live.
More parents are going to have to spend more time out of their homes having to work two or three jobs instead of being with their children.
Lauren: We need someone to save us from this. Im afraid were going to crash and burn.
We need to work together. We need to think about whats better for each other, not just one.
Maria Passannante Derr, NYC
Foreclosures are displacing families; putting children in the streets and in shelters.
Its going to get worse because people are tied into adjustable mortgages and even with an increased debt, which results, in many cases, where the debt outweighs the value of the homes.
People need debt relief.

I want to be secure enough to provide for my family and for them to be able to provide for themselves.
Hopefully they will be able buy a house for themselves in New Jersey.
I was able to, but its getting more difficult for the next generation.

Our concern is that gas and groceries are going to go higher.
Its all the necessities that are tough today.
We dont even think about going out to dinner anymore.
Things are slow – real slow and the prices of necessities continue to go up. Somethings got to give.
You hear more and more bad news everyday. Nothing good.

One of our big concerns is our rising fuel costs. The heating season isnt even here yet. Whats it going to be like then?
Plus the commute to work is seriously eating into our savings. One paycheck goes toward fuel. One paycheck toward living expenses.
We need to start drilling in America. We need to build more refineries.

Everything! Gas prices. Taxes. Ineffective legislators not making strong decisions to fix the problems.
Foreclosure, defaults, inflation, rising property taxes.
We need for our policy makers to make the right decisions. Right now, theyre going after the wrong people.

Inflation is the number one key to the economy, today. Middle America cant afford to put gas in the car, go grocery shopping or go to work, for that matter. Its a massive tax to the middle class.
The good news is that economic alternates are more viable.

Gas, healthcare, taxes – we dont need to say anymore than that.
Ruth has medical issues. So healthcare is a main concern. Were both retired on fixed incomes and things are very difficult with the prices of everything going up.
We can barely make ends meet.
We have insurance, but its not enough.
