The Bradley Beach Police Department recently purchased a new K-9 police cruiser thanks to the generosity of one of the newest businesses in town.
The Dunkin Donuts on Main Street donated $10,000 to the police department for the new patrol car, which includes a kennel for Max, the departments police dog, and lettering on the side of the car reading Police Dog, Keep Away.
Police Officer William Major is Maxs handler and said his patrol car had to be towed away Saturday night after the rear suspension broke.

It couldnt have come at a better time, he said.
Major said Max still trains, sometimes twice a month.
When Max has difficulty following commands Major takes him to master trainer Perry Parks in Medford, he said.
Major said since joining the force a year ago Maxs main duties have been in crime deterring and protecting police officers on duty.
Recently Max helped out the Ocean Township police who were searching for a man who committed a crime.
Max found the guy, said Major.
Max, he said, will be going to narcotics school in the future.
Major thanked several local businesses that donated services for the car including; Tronix of Barnegat for the rear tint, Blue Line Emergency Lighting for the rear lights, and airgraphix of Beachwood for the K-9 decals.
Major said the only cost to the police department for the vehicle was $400.
Paul Pimentel, the owner of the Dunkin Donuts, said it was a pleasure to present the check to the department.
The donation was made through the Dunkin Brands Community Foundation, which has a philosophy to serve those who serve others.
It was in this spirit that the donation was made.
The Bradley Beach K-9 Unit exemplifies this principle by helping aid and protect local members of the Bradley Beach community, Pimentel said.
