Police in Neptune City have released a sketch of a man they believe robbed a 74-year-old Avon man the afternoon of June 21 after threatening him with a gun as the victim left a check cashing business.
Police responded to the business on West Sylvania Avenue and determined that the Avon man was robbed of cash as he was leaving the business.
The victim said a black man approached him holding the handle of a black handgun that was tucked into his waist.
The accused stopped the older man and took his money.
The subject then fled the scene on foot and was last seen in the rear of the Bilows Shopping Center.
The suspect is described as 20- to 25-years-old and about 6 feet tall with a muscular build.
He was last seen wearing a long sleeved shirt and grey basketball shorts.
