Allenhurst musician Sal Boyd, under the moniker Sally, will present his debut album July 27 at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park.
Doors are at 7 p.m.
Boyds music is rooted in classic 50s rock and roll and pop progressions but also incorporates surf, latin and blues.
Recorded the true, old-fashioned way, live in a period of only eight hours, the release, 1.14.2008, is a tribute to all of Boyds influences.
The skill level of the performers, Sally, and his cast of band members, called the Concrete Shoes, is easily heard in the opening pop track “The One The Only” or the tongue-in-cheek “Blame It On Technology.”
Boyd is a sophomore at Berklee College of Music and looking forward to a career in his art.
