Neptune Alliance Summer Program


The Neptune Township Alliance Summer Program is well underway with 75 participants, ages 9-15, joining in the nightly life skills and recreation activities. The program runs Monday through Friday for the month of July at Green Grove School, and includes games, fun, positive decision making skills, prevention messages, and trips. The free program is sponsored by the Neptune Township Municipal Alliance to Prevent Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.

In June the Neptune Township Education Foundation, a not for profit corporation serving the students of Neptune Township School honored four township High School Seniors with its first Academic Scholarship Award. Four $1000 Scholarships were awarded to (from left) Tina Onikoyi (Psychology/ Biomedical Engineering) Monmouth University, Shanice Redd, (Culinary Arts) Johnson & Wales Culinary School, Paul Sneddon (Criminal Justice) Brookdale Community College and Sikiya Alston (Criminal Law) Richard Stockton College.

The Asbury Park Kiwanis Club recently presented a $1,000 contribution to Major William Furman, the new Asbury Park Salvation Army Corp Commander. President Susan Philpot of the Kiwanis Club is shown presenting this contribution to Furman and Major Daniel Moore at a recent Kiwanis luncheon meeting held at Old Man Raffertys restaurant in Asbury Park. Kiwanis meets every Thursday at 12:15 p.m.

A fund-raiser was held recently at Shore Lanes in Neptune for Alfred Orlando, a young father of three who died recently of terminal cancer. Many of his family members, pictured here, live in Ocean Township.
