The Question Is…

Should we drill for oil off the Jersey coast?

Were for it. We think we need it all, the solar, the wind.

Its all ok, but lets drill for now.

That in itself will help lower the prices somewhat.

Its too cold to swim in the ocean anyway.

I think the oil companies should be drilling on the land they already have leased. Now, before looking for a new spot to drill.

They have a lot of land theyre not using.

We should also be looking for alternatives.

Instinctively, Id say no. But I would want to know more about the ecological risks and potential benefits.

Basically, I think we should stop focusing on oil and focus on research and development of alternative fuel sources.

I dont think so. I think we can find other alternatives for fuel instead of continuing to drill.

Find alternatives.

Wind. Solar. With the technology we have today we should be able to solve our energy problems without drilling.

Absolutely not. The price of gas is high, so everyone is going to say yes – but they will regret it.

Our gas price is possibly lower and we ruin the Jersey shore.

Frankly wed rather pay more than ruin the Jersey shore.

We like the Jersey shore – as is.

I dont think we should drill offshore because of the chance of pollution.

We need to consider the health of the children and their future as well.

We need to look into alternatives.

Theres two sides to the coin. We need the oil and they say it will boost the economy, but the effect on the environment may not be good for tourism.

We are the shore area and a lot of people enjoy it.

We need to weigh it all out.

It will help with employment but the environment is very important, especially for our children.

What would the environmental and social impacts of these rigs be? I would hate to lose our lifestyle for the chance to provide the world with a sip of oil. There are better deserving industries for those tax incentives.

Though not happy, I’m somewhat ok to see the effects of these gas prices. What a great motivator! In my humble opinion, our country needs to work out clean alternatives and I believe we have the ability to do it faster than most think. If we choose to!

My opinion is no rigs no way not now. We’re not even desperate yet for oil. Imagine what will happen if we don’t put our efforts in the right direction now!
