Celebrating Fall in Ocean
Festival will feature pie eating, chili contests
The fifth annual Ocean Township Fall Fest falls this year on Sat., Sept. 27.The event will be held at Joe Palaia Park at Whalepond and Deal Roads.
The Fall Fest includes live entertainment, a craft fair, a classic car show, parent/child tennis tournament and chili cook-off.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Sax Man Dan from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in addition to clowns, free spin art, free popcorn and cotton candy, an inflatable slide, and coloring contest.
Spaces for the juried craft show and new merchandise area, which are 10 feet by 10 feet are available for $10. Vendors supply their own tables and chairs.

Trophies will be awarded for the Fall Classic Car Show. All antique, muscle, hot rods, exotic and collectible autos and truck are eligible. Gates open at 9 a.m. with arrivals accepted until noon.

Participation by all community organizations is welcome. The Fire Departments will be kicking off Fire Prevention Month and Clean Communities is holding a coloring contest.

A parent and child tennis tournament will be held at Oakhurst and Wayside Parks with trophies to the winners. Contact Stuart Chavis at (732)531-3773 for information.
The Chili Cook-Off is open to all ages. Submissions of meat or bean chili will be accepted. All chili must be made from scratch with no cans or mixes allowed.

The contest, which is sponsored by the Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce, is open to Ocean Township residents, businesses and Chamber members.
Applications are $5 for children and amateurs and $10 for professionals.
