RIDICULOUS!! I was at the last board meeting two weeks ago and at that meeting there was not a final reading implemented. We were aware that the dress code would be enforced, but as they say it would benefit parents economically. How is it going to benefit me? Now I have to go out and buy my child a whole new wardrobe halfway through the school year??? What the hell??? I am a mom of two and I know damn well I can’t afford another set of clothes for my son halfway through the school year. Is the president and Mr. Jones going to give me money out of their pockets so I can go and buy my kids clothes? NO. I don’t think so. As far as I am concerned my child will go back to school after the winter break wearing jeans, sweats and t-shirts and I don’t care what the board of education has to say. My child deserves a education just as much as the next student regardless of what he is wearing and I am not willing to go out and buy him another set of clothes just because the “elected” officials think it’s ok to say what I have to dress my child in!! All I know is that I can’t wait for the next election to get the fools that are in office out and get ones in that care about my kid as an individual not as a statistic. Isn’t the Neptune school district a PUBLIC SCHOOL not a private one??????? Screw this “uniformity of dress” and the BOARD OF EDUCATION!!
