Parades, Parties Planned For This Spooky Season

Mattison Park restaurant and martini lounge in the landmark Meistrich building in Asbury Park and Paranormal Books, Cookman Avenue are hosting the first ever Halloween block party Oct. 31.

The party includes a costume contest with cash and prizes totaling more than $5,000.

Dust off those wigs and over-the-top costumes; it’s time to celebrate, says coordinator Aaron Coleman.

Gates open at 6 p.m. and the main stage show begins at 7 p.m.

The entry fee is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

In Bradley Beach the annual Halloween Parade will be held Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. Rain date is Oct. 31.

Registration is at 5 p.m. at the fire house. Children must register before entering parade. Refreshments will be served in Riley Park. Senior citizens in costume also welcome.

The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Halloween parade on Oct. 31. Registration is at Kennedy Park at 8 p.m. and the parade begins at 8:30 p.m.
