Ready for Demolition

CECOM building in Tinton Falls
By PAUL BOOTH
Demolition of the former CECOM building in Tinton Falls, delayed for a month due to internal contract disputes among the demolition crews, should begin this week said Borough Administrator W. Bryan Dempsey.

The demoltion company, Modern of New York, has provided the borough with a timeline that calls for asbestos removal to be finished by the end of February and full demolition to be completed by March 31.

“They’ve indicated that this is their schedule, so hopefully it will be completely done by the end of March,” Dempsey said.

The building and property is now owned by PRC developers of Long Branch. PRC is scheduled to build age-restricted housing on the property once the building, vacant now for 15 years, has been fully demolished.
