The East Coast Ice building on Rosewood Avenue in Neptune City, long an eyesore for borough residents, will soon be gone.
At its Monday night meeting the Borough Council awarded a bid to LVI Mazzocchi in East Hanover for the demolition of the block long building in the amount of $265,000.
The town was awarded a hazardous remediation grant of $571,000 for the demolition and environmental remediation of the site.
