Tinton Falls Mayor Peter Maclearie has announced he will run for re-election, setting up a political showdown between the first term mayor and first term Borough Councilman Michael Skudera, who last month announced his intention to unseat the mayor in the May 12 election.
Maclearie, who in addition to his four years as mayor also served two terms as a councilman in the borough, named Mike Stanton and Bob Harvey, both newcomers, as his running mates. The mayor’s seat and two council seats are up for grabs in the non-partisan election.
