Loch Arbour voters were the important swing votes in defeating the 2009-2010 Ocean Township School budget in Tuesday’s election.
Ocean Township residents narrowly passed $32.6 million tax levy in the $65.5 million total budget, which called for a one-cent increase in the school tax rate, by 1,110 to 1,075 votes.
However, Loch Arbour voters swung the final budget vote in the opposite direction by voting it down by 69 to 6 votes.
