$1.5 Million Awarded to Property Owner

Asbury Partners may appeal decision

Asbury Park beachfront developers Asbury Partners will most likely appeal a recent court decision awarding $1.5 million to a former business owner in the city.

Larry Fishman, principal of Asbury Partners, says he and his legal counsel are reviewing the case against Vincent Alvino, for a possible appeal.

A jury in Monmouth County awarded the settlement to Alvino, former owner of a Second Avenue property adjacent to the Stone Pony, who they say did not receive the proper amount from the developers when the city of Asbury Park took the property under eminent domain in March of 2006 as part of its Waterfront Redevelopment Project.
