Neptune City Police Hoping to Purchase of Small Motorcar

Police in Neptune City may soon have another vehicle at their disposal to take care of the town’s law enforcement.

At the May 26 meeting the mayor and council gave Police Chief William Geschke the approval to apply for a $10,425 Edward Byrne Grant, which may be used to help fund the purchase of a marked low speed vehicle.

Similar vehicles, called GEM, or Global Electric Motorcar, are currently used in Bradley Beach and Belmar.
