The landmark Sampler Inn at 28 Main Ave. in Ocean Grove will be demolished under a unanimous vote taken by the Township Committee last week.
“In the opinion of the committee and based on expert testimony, the building is, in fact, a danger to the public,” said Committeeman Randy Bishop, who owns a bed and breakfast in Ocean Grove.
Bishop said the governing body does recognize the historic nature of the old four-story hotel but that public safety is the main concern.
