Court Stops Sampler Inn Demolition; Schedules Hearing

An injunction preventing the demolition of Ocean Grove’s well-known Sampler Inn was issued by a Superior Court judge July 2 at the same time Neptune officials were accepting bids to take the old hotel down.

Superior Court Judge Patricia DelBueno Cleary granted E.K. Sampler LLC and Elliot Koplitz., owners of the hotel at 28 Main Avenue, a temporary injunction with a hearing on the matter to be held Aug. 21.

“We cannot award any demolition contract until after the hearing,” said Township Clerk Richard J. Cuttrell.
