The Neptune Township Committee this week unanimously adopted an ordinance that regulates special event permits.
The ordinance defines a special event as a commercial enterprise that requires a mercantile license, does not run more than two weeks in length and “serves the public purpose of furthering the commercial and mercantile growth and stability and/or aesthetics of the Township at large.”
The ordinance also applied a $100 charge for each permit issued, and limits permits to two per applicant in any calendar year, with neither event occurring within 30 days of the other. (more…)
