The event is being sponsored by the Bradley Beach Friends of the REC, Bradley Beach Recreation, Neptune City Playground Committee and Neptune City Recreation.

Admission is $12 and provides access to all rides and activities, excluding food.

A Poker Run is an event organized for motorcycle riders that is linked to a charitable event.

Riders collect poker cards at pre-determined stops along the route, and the participant with the highest poker hand wins a $500 prize.

Pemberton was a lifelong resident of Ocean Township. He was a 1999 graduate of the Ocean Township High School where he played defensive end for the Ocean Township Spartans football team.

He was also an active member of the Wanamassa Fire Company and First-Aid Squad, serving as 2nd Assistant Fire Chief at the time of his death at the age of 26 in 2006.

Fishing, flare demonstrations planned for Sat., Aug. 8

“This is an event to celebrate the key role marinas play in offering boaters and residents, education, recreation and above all, public access”, stated Marina Supervisor, Tim O’Connor.

The event starts at 10 a.m. at Riverside Park (South Riverside Drive), adjacent to the Marina.

The ordinance defines a special event as a commercial enterprise that requires a mercantile license, does not run more than two weeks in length and “serves the public purpose of furthering the commercial and mercantile growth and stability and/or aesthetics of the Township at large.”

The ordinance also applied a $100 charge for each permit issued, and limits permits to two per applicant in any calendar year, with neither event occurring within 30 days of the other.

The festival includes environmental and activists displays, crafters and green vendors.

An environmental justice roundtable with educators and environmentalists from Newark, Camden, Trenton, Elizabeth and Asbury Park will discuss ways to make the urban environment more livable and sustainable.

Dunk your favorite Asbury Park official as part of the Community Day scheduled for Sat., July 18 in Asbury Park.

The Asbury Park Community Justice Advisory Group, with support of its members and member organizations, will host the event with free food, games and activities for children.

The event will take place on Springwood and Atkins Avenues from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Community Day will feature free food and beverages, games and activities for children, live music and a dunk tank.

Lilley, who is a well known harmonica player in the shore area, has liver cancer. He is currently on the liver donor transplant list and it is anticipated that the transplant will be within six months.

The 57-year-old and his wife, Theresa of 35 years, have been residents of Asbury Park for 23 years. They are founding members of the Jersey Shore Jazz Blues Foundation and have dedicated many years to working to build a better community through non-profits at the shore such as: Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation and ABATE, a non-partisan legislative organization that represents the interests of the over 165,000 registered motorcyclists in New Jersey.

Dogs will be available for adoption

A number of dogs will be available for adoption at the event, and a fund raising activity will also be held. Local residents interested in volunteering with this group will also have the opportunity to discuss various needs with current volunteers of Rescue Ridge.
