Pets are now being abandoned in large numbers due to the bad economy and animal advocates are urging people to think first before adopting a pet and plan for their future.
Animals abandoned due to home foreclosures or people no longer wanting their pets or being able to care for them is becoming a big problem, said Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar manager Debbie DeLisa – a pet advocate.

This is WOODSTOCK. He’s a handsome male/neutered gray Tabby. He’s very sociable, gets along with the other cats, and he loves lots of attention. He would be the perfect pet for someone that likes large cats. Please visit Woodstock in the free roaming room at the Associated Humane Societies, Tinton Falls, noon to 5:30 p.m., [...]

This healthy gray, which has been living under the Asbury Park boardwalk, is being offered for adoption by Madison Marquette. She has all her shots and is looking for a good home. If you would like to adopt this young cat, named Bruce, call 897-6500.

Lance, an orange and white striped kitten, is available for adoption by calling Madison Marquette at 732-897-6500. Lance has lived most of his life at the Asbury Park boardwalk. He has all his shots and is healthy and looking for a good home.
