Allenhurst filmmaker Debra Higgins and her co-producers took home two major awards at this past weekend’s Red Bank International Film Festival.
Higgins feature-length documentary “Snake Hill” was named winner of the “Best Feature Documentary” and also won the “Jersey Fresh” award given to New Jersey filmmakers for a narrative or documentary film.

Four years of talks and studies are over: Allenhurst will have its first-ever redevelopment plan.
The Planning Board sent a proposal to the Board of Commissioners that calls for the adaptive re-use of two key buildings, some housing, retail space and a park.
The commissioners are scheduled to review the recommendations this month.

Most shore towns saw increases in beach revenues for the 2007 season, with Bradley Beach and Asbury Park showing the biggest increases.
This was the scene at the Asbury Park beachfront Sunday of Labor Day weekend.

Recreation volunteers are needed in Bradley Beach. The recreation board, which usually has seven members and two alternates is now down to five members and no alternates.
