Bradley Beach officials have now said they will probably not ban smoking east of Ocean Avenue as was originally considered.
Instead, the Borough Council is looking at smoking areas designated along the beachfront after residents and council members alike said they had second thoughts about implementing a total ban.
The total ban east of Ocean Avenue was proposed at council’s August 11 meeting after presentations by borough youngsters.
At Tuesday’s council meeting, however, residents broke out in a chorus of “God Bless America” when Councilman Gary Engelstad stood by a total ban. (more…)
