Property owners in Deal will see a property reassessment conducted by Oct. 1 after the Monmouth County Board of Taxation ordered the move last December.
We met with the tax board and it was determined that a reassessment, rather than a full property revaluation, will be conducted, which will save the borough money, said Borough Administrator James Rogers.
Rogers said that under a reassessment there will be less of a need to inspect the interiors of properties as normally done in a property revaluation.

Fire officials in Deal are concerned about old equipment and how it affects their ability to fight fires.

A retired Deal Police Officer, who currently works in the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office, has been arrested on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for possessing and distributing child pornography.

Most shore towns saw increases in beach revenues for the 2007 season, with Bradley Beach and Asbury Park showing the biggest increases.
This was the scene at the Asbury Park beachfront Sunday of Labor Day weekend.

Recreation volunteers are needed in Bradley Beach. The recreation board, which usually has seven members and two alternates is now down to five members and no alternates.
