Deal Property to Undergo Reassessment by October 1

Property owners in Deal will see a property reassessment conducted by Oct. 1 after the Monmouth County Board of Taxation ordered the move last December.
We met with the tax board and it was determined that a reassessment, rather than a full property revaluation, will be conducted, which will save the borough money, said Borough Administrator James Rogers.
Rogers said that under a reassessment there will be less of a need to inspect the interiors of properties as normally done in a property revaluation.

Retired Police Officer Arrested on Pornography Charges

A retired Deal Police Officer, who currently works in the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office, has been arrested on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for possessing and distributing child pornography.

Beach Revenues Up Over Last Year

Most shore towns saw increases in beach revenues for the 2007 season, with Bradley Beach and Asbury Park showing the biggest increases.
