The Asbury Park Parking Committee has released a new rate chart which reduces seasonal parking from three to two seasons and reduces some off peak season fees during the week to 50 cents an hour.
Prior there were three seasons, peak, non-peak and winter.
Now there are only two, peak and off-peak for the three zones.
The zones include the downtown, zone 33100, central, zone 33200, and waterfront, zone 33300.
In the downtown zone peak season fees are $1 per hour weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and $2 per hour weekends starting at 5 p.m. on Friday and ending 2 a.m. on Monday.
Off-peak season the fees are 50 cents per hour weekdays, Monday 9 a.m. to Friday 5p.m. and $2 per hour weekends from Friday 5 p.m. to Monday 2 a.m.
In the central zone, 33200, peak season fees are $1 per hour weekdays, Monday 9 a.m. to Friday 5 p.m. and $2 per hour weekends from Friday, 5 p.m. to Monday 2 a.m.
Off-peak season fees are 50 cents per hour week days from Monday 9 a.m. to Friday 5 p.m. and $1 per hour weekends from Friday 5 p.m. to Monday 2 a.m.
In the waterfront zone, 33300, peak season fees are $2 per hour both weekdays and weekends.
Off-peak season rates are 50 cents per hour weekdays Monday 9 a.m. to Friday 5 p.m. and $2 per hour weekends Friday 5 p.m. to Monday 2 a.m.
Transportation Director Michael Manzella said, “The changes in the parking rate seasons was done to streamline the rates. The two months incorporated into the peak season offset the two months incorporated into the off-peak season. Therefore we don’t anticipate a new increase in revenue from this change.”
