The former, long-vacant Coca Cola bottling/distribution plant at the eastern end of the Asbury Park traffic circle in Neptune is expected to be redeveloped in the near future.
Neptune Business Administrator Vito Gadaleta recently said that initial plans call for a food store, a convenience store with a gas station, and a restaurant.
“There is no application before the Planning Board yet but one is expected in the future,” he said.
The site is a total 13.47 acres but some of it is wetlands and cannot be developed. It still contains the old Coca Cola plant, which was once a bottling plant and a distribution center. It has been vacant for at least three decades.
Gadaleta said that Coca Cola sold the property years ago at auction.
