We think readers will agree; it’s time to put away this slow-going, sullen winter and think SUMMER! So this week we asked Shore area residents, “What are your plans for the summer?”…and here are their replies:
Gerard Yosca, Ocean Grove – I plan to enjoy the beach. To try and forget about this winter and enjoy the beach. I like the beach at Ocean Grove. I‘m looking forward to the boardwalk, but all you really need is the sun and the sand in Ocean Grove.
Frank Cimino, Neptune Fishing and hanging out at the Bradley Beach firehouse, where the elite meet. They are nice people there. People appreciate it when you help them.
Christopher Clark, Spring Lake – I’ll be surfing and playing baseball all summer. I play for the Great Whites in Spring Lake. We’re going to Cooperstown this summer too. We’re playing in a tournament there.
Helen Hayes, Asbury Park – I’ll be working at Avon Public Works all summer long. I believe it’s going to be a busy summer in Avon. They have a lot to offer at the beach there. It’s a nice place to spend the summer, even if I’m working. I love it there.
Karen Jackson, Asbury Park – Rest. I plan to rest this summer. I work all the time. I’m tired. Maybe a vacation to Canada.
Miguel Lebron, Sr. & Lexi Christian, Bridgeton – We’ll be volunteering at the Retore, Habitat for Humanity here in Asbury Park. We’ll be going to the beach in Asbury, as well. We like the boardwalk here, the water park. There’s lots of fun stuff here.
Ronnie Long, Bradley Beach – I’m staying on my front porch and watching all the women walking to the beach in their bikinis, I only live a block from the beach. I have a parrot with a very foul mouth that hangs out on the front porch with me. His foul mouth attracts people. They video him. His name is Cleo.
Tim Lush & Rebecca Nichols, Wanamassa – We just moved to the area from Jersey City, so we’re looking forward to spending our summer here. We love the beach in Asbury Park, that’s our favorite. We bought a big enough house so our family can come and visit us. We’re looking forward to it.
Janice & Dean McGlothin, Ocean Grove – We’re going to spend time at the Ocean Grove beach when we’re not working. Our granddaughter will come up for a while. She spends time at the Bradley Beach surf camp. We take her sightseeing. We walk from Asbury to Avon. We’ve walked to Spring Lake and rode the train back.
Karl Oliveira, Nagles – Working. Maybe the beach sometimes. I live in Neptune, work at Nagles, and go to the Ocean Grove beach. It’s a staycation.
Andy Skokos, Tinton Falls – I’m going to spend some time with my grandchildren in the swimming pool. More family time this summer. More outside barbeques and such.
