The Question is…

August 12, 2021
Frances Rodriquez w/Junior & Noah, Frances Unisex Hair – I think if he did something wrong, he should pay. If he has secrets, they need to know what he told. My son is in the Air Force and there are some secrets, and they are supposed to keep them. He can’t tell me or anybody.
Robert Thoman, Asbury Park – I think his motives were good, however I think he broke the law by doing that and should come back and face the music. I don’t think he should go to jail, I really don’t. Maybe, on second thought, a short jail sentence.
Jon Vargas, Morristown – I think he’s a hero. He’s blowing the whistle on something the government was hiding from us. I feel they have overstepped their bounds and are infringing on our free speech. He alerted everybody to that fact. That’s what whistle blowers do, bring things to light. I don’t think he should be prosecuted for that.
Ellen Rosenthal w/Snowball – I think he should be extradited to the US and be held accountable if he broke any of our laws.
Susan Maynard, Asbury Park -I have mixed feelings. I have mixed feelings about other countries giving him asylum. As for the leaking of intelligence, it’s nothing we didn’t already know. One side of me thinks other countries should be more cooperative, the other side says they have their countries policies.
Nate Maier, Asbury Park – I don’t really think it’s that big of a deal. I kind of expected that this stuff was going on. We live in a world of big data. There is so much information out there. It doesn’t bother me. I trust my government not to go overboard. It’s not like a big brother situation to me.
Ni qui Donato & Cheryle Haynes, Neptune – We think he’s just a hacker who got away. He should spend his own dime to come back. If he wants to come back, let him. Face the music on his own dime.
Sue Henderson, Asbury Park -I think he put a lot of people in jeopardy, and though I don’t agree with spying on people, with every administration I’m sure it’s been gong on- especially with Homeland Security. I think we need to bring him home through what ever means to face the consequences. I think he should man-up and come back to face the music.
Kevin Ihnen, Asbury Park -I think he felt it maybe morally right to have released that information, but he broke confidence in the oath that he took and the contracts that he signed for the NSA and Booz Allen. I don’t know if he’s a traitor, but I do think he should come home and face the charges. People who take federal jobs have made an agreement to keep their mouths shut, whether they agree with the policies or not.
Rick Wills, Manalapan -Well, I don’t know what to think. I agree with what some people say about hin and I agree with what others say about him. I need some more information before I make up my mind. I think people make up their mind too quickly. And I really like the Coaster newspaper, by the way.
Gary Edelson, Oakhurst – I think he thought he was doing the right thing. I don’t think he’s coming back. I definetly don’t.
Iain Douglas, Sunderland, England – I think he should be prosecuted. He broke the law. It looks like the Russians want to give him up. He could go to Ecuador and chill out for a while. But if he wants to come back to the US, he has to face the music.
Jay Khare, Kevin Majewski & Lee Dixon, Asbury Park -Kevin: I don’t know much about him, but we have the same style eye glasses Jay: I think he should come back and answer the charges. If he thinks he didn’t do anything wrong then why is he on the run? Lee: I don’t think it was appropriate for him to have exposed a program that thwarted dozens of terrorists attacks.
