Nicholas Morgan and Ryan Jackson were both sworn in by Mayor Robert Brown in front of a room full of friends, family, and the current Neptune City police force.

Jackson is a graduate of Point Pleasant High School and Rowan University earning a bachelors degree in Law and Justice. He was with the Point Pleasant Beach police department in the summer of 2012 enforcing traffic laws and parking violations before graduating from the Monmouth County Police Academy in May of 2013.

Morgan graduated from Manasquan High School in June of 2005 and was a Manasquan lifeguard for before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps and serving our country in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is in the process of earning his Associates degree from Brookdale Community College. He graduated from the Ocean County police academy class No. 31 on May 25 2012. He worked for the Point Pleasant Beach police department as an SLEO class II officer since December of 2011.

Public Safety Director Ed Kirschenbaum introduced both officers and said, “because we are allowed to hire as soon as a vacancy opens it allows us to continue to keep our town and residents safe.”

In other business, the mayor said the county will be finishing the repaving on W. Sylvania Avenue.

“We are happy about that but we want to make sure all things measure up and the job is done correctly,” he said.
