Estafan Magana, 19, and two minors, all from Asbury Park, were arrested. Magana was charged with several counts of burglary, theft of property, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief. Charges are pending against the two minors.

On Sun., Sept. 16 Avon Police Officers Timothy McGrath and Dave Barry responded to Roosevelt Avenue to handle a reported residential burglary. The victim said her smart phone and a large amount of cash had been stolen, police said. The investigation revealed goods were being held on Comstock Avenue in Asbury Park, police said.

McGrath and Avon Detective Greg Torchia responded to the Asbury Park location and made contact with Magana and the two teens, police said. Police said the three possessed stolen goods.

Police learned at least two of the three had been responsible for multiple burglaries in Avon, Belmar, Interlaken and Ocean Township.

The arresting officers were Torchia, Belmar Detective Lt. Tom Cox and Ocean Township Detective Michael Legg.
