Allenhurst Police, in cooperation with the state Division of Highway Traffic Safety, is participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign Aug. 15 to Sept. 1.
The police received a $5,000 grant to put more officers on the road, in patrols and at checkpoints, to apprehend drunk drivers. Another goal of the program is to enhance police visibility and deter drunk driving.
