Veteran 19-year Neptune Police Sergeants Michael D’Amico and Christopher Schembri were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant this week at the Neptune Township Committee meeting.
Both officers were sworn in by Mayor Michael Brantley.
D’Amico, a former Marine, has served as a detective, a shift commander, and a road supervisor. He has also served on the township’s Quality of Life (Street Crimes) unit and as a field training officer.
He is a graduate of Neptune High School and has a Masters of Administrative Services from Farleigh Dickenson University. He has also spent a lot of time coaching and counseling local young people.
Schembri, also born in Neptune and a graduate of the township high school graduate, has served as a school resource officer, a shift commander, and road supervisor. He has also served as a supervisor of sworn officers for nine years.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Business from Glassboro State College and is a youth soccer and baseball coach.
