Asbury Park Where Music Lives is hosting the Vini Lopez Celebrity Roast May 28 at 708 Cookman Ave., Asbury Park.
The event begins at 8 p.m. and funds raised will go to the Light of Day Foundation.
The Light of Day Foundation raises money and awareness in its continuing battle to defeat Parkinson’s disease and related illnesses such as PSP and ALS within our lifetime. The Foundation’s mission is to fund research into possible cures, improved treatments and support for patients who suffer from those illnesses, their families and their caregivers to help improve their quality of life.
Mike Marino will be the Roastmaster. Affectionately known as New Jersey’s Bad Boy – he is one of the most unique comics of our time. He has performed in every major comedy club from New York city to Los Angeles.
Also scheduled to attend are Big Joe Henry of New Jersey 101.5 and popular musician Bobby Bandiera.
Phil Villapiano, retired football linebacker who played 13 season in the NFL, is also scheduled to attend along with singer and songwriter Lance Larson, who has performed at the Jersey Shore for more than 30 years.
Lopez, a former member of the E Street Band, is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as the NJ Hall of Fame.
