Neptune City Police are sponsoring “Coffee with a Cop,” an informal session for the police and public to meet, Thursday, June 18, at the police department’s Community Relations Unit.
The unit is the Brighton Arms III apartment complex, Apartment 301A. The event begins at 3 p.m.
The idea is to have an informal get-together to discuss issues, build relationships and drink coffee.
“We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns or simply get to know our officers,” said Public Safety Director Edward Kirschenbaum. “These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships.”
Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the federal Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
